When kde3.5 mounts an external drive, konqueror goes to media:/...

but I would prefer to go to the real path like /media/... so not using the media: protocol (like kde4 and gnome). Is there any way to do this?

I know kde3.5 is outdated, but I'm still using it and will be using for the near future - I simply cannot warm up to kde4.

KDE 3 used media:/ in order to access media in an abstract manner. In my use of it, I never found a way to use the "real" path to it. Note that by using the real path, KDE will not offer ways to safely remove the device if you simply "Up" all the way out.

Problem with this "abstract manner" is the following: I always press f4 (open terminal) then type "encfs" and then middle-click-copy the path from konqueror's address bar into the terminal. This way I can easily access encfs media without having to type out the full path. Works great with gnome and kde4, but in kde3.5, I always have to navigate to the real path by hand when I plug in an external drive, which is annoying. An encfs path cannot begin with media:/ nor can a path for partimage or other (low-level) applications where you have to enter a path to a certain file.
