I noticed a strange thing today. Even though I have the same settings for fonts for rooted apps and normal users, the one launched by kdesu have slightly different font - it's less blurred. See screenshot. System Settings launched by kdesu is on the left, normal user on the right.

This is likely due to differing FontConfig caches or configuration files. Try removing your ~/.fonts.conf and ~/.fontconfig files, then logging out and in again.

The thing is, I actually prefer the 'rooted' look, because it looks much less blurred for me
![]() (And, as I reckon, after following your advice, my root apps will look like normal-user apps, and I would prefer for it to work the other way around) |

If you change "use anti-aliasing" to Enabled (sorry it's in English, I don't know the language you're using
![]() You can also click Configure, and enable "use sub-pixel rendering", make it RGB (this is the most common IINM). Also in Configure, changing the "hinting style" may help. So tweak those settings till you get the look and feel you want. |

Ok, I know what happened. Lambda user had sub-pixel rendering set to RGB, and root had sub-pixel rendering disabled. It is now disabled for both, and look the same now
![]() (Or at least I can't find any difference without exposing my eyes to extreme strain caused by comparing 4 pixels with each other, searching for a slight color change ![]() Anyway, works as it should and I have a nice non-blurred look in KDE4. PS.: Hope to see a possiblity to change root look settings from lamba user's KCM in the future ![]() ![]() Thanks for help. |
