It is nice to see mouse gestures being implemented. After fiddling around with it, I have two questions:
1. When configuring mouse gestures using input actions, is there a way to create a gesture for minimizing a window? I linked a gesture to a custom keyboard shortcut I made in kwin for minizimizing a window (keybindings), and it worked alright. However, when trying to link that keyboard shortcut, and using the gesture in Arora resulted in nothing happening. This stands in contrast to the other custom gestures I made for the program that are working (i.e. new tab, back, forward, etc). 2. Is there a way to keep certain gestures program specific? I tried setting the active window to arora in conditions, creating a window data condition under action and setting the action to "specific window." This is due to the keyboard commands of moving tabs being different between dolphin and arora. A workaround is to set dolphin's keybindings for those commands to match those of arora. Doing this works. However, what if there is a third program where setting custom keyboard shortcuts is not obvious, then there is a problem with this workaround. //waiting for gesture trails to be implemented |

I guess I had to create a window simple: rule to address my concern in question 2. |

Note that if a shortcut is in use globally by a KDE application, then it can be intercepted and applications such as Arora may never recieve it. Does it work if you try an alternate shortcut?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not see "minimize window" under standard shortcuts. It shows up in global keyboard shortcuts->kwin. I tried to set a custom shortcut earlier, but like you said it is simply changing the global keyboard shortcut for the command I wish to make a gesture for. And that Arora (or any other program) may not be able to receive the command. I assume minimizing/maximizing windows is controlled by kwin, is there alternative route to creating a kwin shortcut that will not be "intercepted?" |

It appears that we have gotten confused. Can you please check the configuration of the Minimize Window mouse gesture? Also, is the keyboard shortcut or mouse gesture you have specified used anywhere else?

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. I can safely say that both the keyboard shortcut and mouse gesture are unique. 1) Global shortcut setting: http://i29.tinypic.com/1rx769.jpg 2) Mouse gesture settings specific for Arora: http://i27.tinypic.com/20zczfl.jpg 3) Mouse gesture setting for the kwin keyboard shortcut: http://i28.tinypic.com/30a5oyd.jpg Note, for the third pic, I tried all three window options to no avail. Furthermore, all other keyboard shortcuts seen in pic 2 work. Granted, those are the keyboard shortcuts within the program (Arora) itself. |

Interesting. Those settings do indeed seem to be correct.
It may be simply that Input Actions ( KHotKeys ) sends the actions directly to the applications themselves, which would explain why Back, etc work as they are controlled by Arora, but the "Window Minimize" shortcut is a global one not controlled by Arora. If it works in KDE applications, it is possible they forward it to kglobalacceld which is responsible for handling global shortcuts. You may wish to file a bug report at bugs.kde.org.
