Hello all.
I have a Thinkpad T61p, and I'm an experienced Linux user. The problem is that I can't suspend my laptop using the keyboard shortcut Fn+F4. It's not my laptop because it works in Gnome on Ubuntu and Fedora. However, I can't get it to work with either distribution when using KDE. I checked the keyboard shortcuts in System Settings, but there didn't appear to be anything for suspend. How would I get this shortcut to work? Do I just need to install some hotkey package (like a gnome app)? Here's something I was thinking, but don't know how to implement. I believe there is a command that's run to suspend the computer, and I thought that I could just create a keyboard shortcut to run that command. The only problem that I can think of is that I can't set keyboard shortcuts to use the Fn key, but Alt or the windows key would also work fine. How would I create a new keyboard shortcut? Thanks for the help. |

If you want to create a new shortcut:
I hope it helps you, Jan. EDIT: Tried to make it a bit clearer. ![]() |

Yeah, well... but what command do you have to issue to suspend? And still that doesn't solve the problem with the Fn key.
