Hi, i finaly tried to switch from KDE 3.5 to KDE 4.3.1 today. But unfortunatly i have a problem with the mouse wheel and i was not able to solve it until now. Maybe someone in this forum can guide me in the right direction.
In KDE 4.3.1 with my migrated profile the scrollbars do not react to the mouse wheel. On KDE Apps it works as long as the mouse is over the scrollbar, but not if anywhere else in the application (In konqueror for example while browsing this page). In Firefox it doesn't work at all, same thing for other non-KDE apps. The mouse wheel itself works for other stuff like chanching opacity and things like that. It also works in KDE 3.5, wich is still installed (Gentoo slots). If i create a new user, everything works fine. Has anyone an idea what configfile i have to remove/edit tho change that behavior? Creating a new user and migrate all the data is really no option here. thanks for your help |

Found something important. If i have a horizontal scrollbar in konqueror, it scrolls on that if i use the wheel. Maybe it is just mapped to the wrong axis. Any idea how i can change this? Is there a difference between KDE 3.5 and 4.3.1 on how the mouse axis is mapped?

Found the problem. It was an old "pointer" entry in .Xmodmap. Still strange that KDE 3.5 and KDE 4 behave different with the same mapping.
sorry for crying around here ![]() |
