This is really odd to me. Basically, upgraded kde 4.2.4 to 4.3.1, and now Favorites, Applications, Recently Used, and Leave tabs all have question marks instead of icons. Most of the options under Leave also are question marks.

This is weird because no other user on the same machine is having the same problem.

I just don't even know where to start looking. I even moved ~/.kde4 out of the way, and allowed kde to recreate it. No luck.

Any suggestions?

It may be the kde-icon cache that's causing this.

The cache is usually in /var/tmp/kdecache-username/kpc/

Make sure you're not in a kde-session (such as in IceWM or just a shell) and move (as root) all kde-icon-cache* files out of the way, I'd move them to a backup directory just in case, and log back into KDE to see if that's the reason.

I tried that and the problem still remains. Not sure what the issue is. For me, it only appears to be happening with the Open Office applications. Even when I go and modify the menu and try to change the icons from there, the changes won't "stick".
