Disable recent documents?

Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:06 am
I've just upgraded to KDE 4.3.1. I've more or less sorted out some issues I had, with the exception of one.

I'm using the default KDE Menu/App Launcher and I can't figure out how to turn off the Recent Documents. There are app launcher settings, but as far as I can tell there's no way to turn it off.

I don't care if there's a gui way; I'll edit some config files if I have to.

Anyone know of a way to do this?

The best solution would likely be changing the permissions of the directory where the Recent Documents *.desktop files are stored.

This appears to be ~/.kde4/share/apps/RecentDocuments on my system.

Code: Select all
cd $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/RecentDocuments

Yep that works. And it's not hard to change. :)

Now to figure out how to set a default transparency for all windows. So many things to mess around with!
