Some times if I extract some rar or zip file I noticed that dolphin's display list is not refreshed until I hit refresh. Same I have noticed when downloading files with firefox.

This is usually an issue with iNotify on your system. Please check your Kernel's build configuration.

I have this in my .config kernel source directory I compiled

CONFIG_FSNOTIFY=y
CONFIG_DNOTIFY=y
CONFIG_INOTIFY=y
CONFIG_INOTIFY_USER=y

So I think my kernel is compiled with inotify. Is there any thing else I need to check. I also have gamin installed.

The same problem happens to me and I use openSUSE 11.1.

I think that this was a normal behaviour with non KDE applications.

I first one I said was when I extracted files within dolphin from the context menu. But this is not always reproducible.

I have found this too since the upgrade to Kubuntu 9.10, looks to be a bug.

Also, on context menu of Dolphin there is no "Refresh". I must go o Menu->View->Reload
Quite annoying

You can press F5.That will save some time.

Ah. I was wondering if this was due to me tinkering with my system. But I see you guys have the same issues.
The "does not refresh" also happens to me inside the folder-view-plasmoids, wich can get quite confusing as one of those is my "Downloads" folder.

In fact it does seem to update sometimes, in 4.3.2. But I still do need to use F5 at other times. What's more, I don't see a pattern in the times when it is working, which is confusing. The only good thing is that if it is working sometimes, it's probably a work in progress - a 'coming soon' I hope.

I'm having this problem too. Has anyone written a bug report?

I have not written a bug report on this yet, and did see this recently ( when I was downloading some images to upload to another site )

And I vote with 20 points and I hope that other people with the same problem vote to confirm this bug quickly.
