Anyone know how to back up kde's "places" that you see in the left column of Dolphin? I have a bunch of ftp locations and folders I use frequently that are a hassle to refind and recreate each time.

Thanks!

I think this file contains the information about places:
~/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml

Just copy the file to a secure place and if there's a problem move it back (but there are more places than only Dolphin's in this file)

It's not ~/.kde4/... but ~/.kde/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml , at least in Kubuntu 9.10 (karmic) that's true.
