Plugins in dolphin?

Sun Nov 08, 2009 8:01 pm
Hi,

While cleaning up my hdd drive i noticed that it would have been convenient to have a plugin. In my case a plugin that shows the size of an entire folder without right clicking -> properties.

Now, dolphin does not support plugins (or does it?) and i'm wondering if there are plans to support plugin functionality for in dolphin and if that is planned then what's the time table for it?

Before i get konqueror suggestions; i prefer dolphin over konqueror.

Thanx,
Mark.

It does not, nor are there any firm plans to that I am aware of, but there is a brainstorm idea for showing the total size of folders in dolphin and a brainstorm idea about allowing plugins for dolphin.

It does support kioslaves. The old file size view is still available in Konq. There is another application for viewing file size, but I forget what it is.

Thank you for your reply.
So right now and in the foreseeable future there won't be plugin support for dolphin? or is it something that might very well end up in the dolphin for kde... 4.6 (just to name a number)?

Or is it just NO. not now and not ever?
