I wanted to activate desktop effects so i would have some transparency and the desktop would look a bit nicer (not because of all those 3D effects, no i don't want them). So when i went to System Settings > Desktop > Enable Desktop Effects, i got a message saying..
What does this message mean? How can i activate desktop effects now? I was able to activate desktop effects on all other distros, now i'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and it gives me that messages.. What do i do? Thanks! |

when you have a new installed distro maybe the appropriate driver wasn't loaded... do you have 3d accelleration?

With that little information it's hard to help you. Graphic card? Driver? xorg.conf? What does
say?
