I have searched the forum for such a topic but can't find one.
Have been using KDE 3 since 2005 but have recently upgraded to
KDE 4 in PCLinuxOS.
In Konqueror 3.5, a user can select from the drop down list in
'View' on the toolbar and choose 'View Mode'. Under this is listed:
Icon View
Multicolumn View
Tree View
Info List View
Detailed List View
Text View
Photo Book
File Size View

What I really miss in Dolphin 4, is the ability to select 'Info List View'
which lists all the information for the folder opened. This is especially
helpful when viewing audio files.
Konqueror 3.5 will list: Title, Artist, Album, Genre, Bitrate, Length, Year, Comment, etc.

Does anyone know if this functionality may be added back to the file managers in an upcoming release?

I am enjoying using 4.3 and so far this is the only thing I would change.

Thanks,
teddyred

Unfortunately I do not know the state of such developments at this time, and do not believe any public plans have been made to restore such a file view.

This is another case where dolphin does things differently :-) Two things might help - and which one depends very much on your needs. First, if you want to see all the information about your files, then set View > Panels > Information (or hit F11). The bad thing is that it takes up some real estate (but then having one file per line in the Info List View did as well). The good thing is that even hovering over a file can cause its information to be displayed, and this can be a big time-saver if you are searching for something.

The second thing that can help is that you can choose to have some additional information displayed along with your icon view or preview mode. This is also set from the View menu, under ~Additional Information. Just choose the fields you want to see.
