Which stile use in old computers?

Hi. I have 2000 Mhz CPU, 512 DDR1 RAM, 128 M video. Can i use Kubuntu 9.10 on this PC and which style of KDE is most faster for this computer?
I wont to use execly KDE-version of Ubuntu, non Xubuntu or Ubuntu. Now i use Kubuntu 7.10 o)

You probably can, but if at all possible: add some memory. It will most likely be slow with just half a gig.


OpenSUSE 11.4, 64-bit with KDE 4.6.4

466 ram for me, works OK. CPU is much worse, so probably you'll be ok.

I find 512mb of RAM adequate for KDE, but I wouldn't use any less than that.

hi, i've been running openSuSE 11.1 and KDE 3/4 and just updated a 1300GHz AMD to KDE 4.3 and it is running Just Fine.
I don't wait to switch apps or desktops. I do have 1 GBram.
I have another system (IBM 1.5 GHz Intel) with 380MB on it.. There is some waiting between desktops, but it Does NOT crash and seems to work well.
Too slow to be a production system, but more than good to learn KDE and surf the web.
