Task switcher too slow

Pressing Alt-Tab, I can select an application from a list appearing on the centre. Fancy effects are turned off.
Works, but has a lag. A delay. (Something like "smooth scroll".) Which causes confusion: which application will be active. I'd like to make it fast, responsive, delayless.

What's your graphics card? And which driver?

OpenSUSE 11.4, 64-bit with KDE 4.6.4
