I was having some driver issues causing KDE to crash when compositing is active; I'd like to run some tests to see if some recent changes have fixed that. Is there a stress test program, or some other sort of test battery I can run? Or maybe a benchmark program?

You could try glxgears, but the best way to do it would be to try out many of KWin's effects in quick succession.

I actually crashed a few minutes after posting this. It doesn't seem to pop up right away, no matter how many windows I drag and desktops I flip and whatnot, but I guess the important thing is that I should investigate it further as a driver / x bug and track through the problems there.

I can run glxgears and the other glx* programs without issue. Thank you for the info, though.
