just an FYI: since KDE-4 (now on KDE 4.3.4), after a while (during the course of the day), I loose the mouse pointer when hovering over the 'window' of both kate and kwrite. I can tell where my pointer is only because of the 'select' or highlighting of icons, scroll bars and menu items. I have my "I" bar within the text and pointer over the title bar.. That's it. This happens All the time, after a while after reboot. I have a lot going and don't see this happen in Any other apps.. Here is a screenshot of it.. I know that ksnapshot removes pointer, but humor me enough, that i am smart enough to know this and that it is really gone. See how the "I bar" is there, and 'Save' is not only highlighted, but the 'info' "Save" has been displayed.. There is no pointer for me. Other than that, both Kate and Kwrite work Fine, in fact, I use them both do program my websites, Ever Day, All Day... No other problems.
I have 3 workstations in my house that are running openSuSE 11.x and KDE 3/4-4 and I am the only user and they all have this problem. (ws': IBM P4 1.5, openSuSE 11.1 - KDE 3/4.. Dell P4 2.4, openSuSE 11.2 KDE 4.3.4 and a emachine (installed diff motherboard) AMD with 11.1 w updates and KDE 3/4 updated to 4.3.4..) (all have min 1GB RAM and All updates and good video). ? FYI... it's been about 5-6 hours since i posted the first. I just started a new doc in Kate and after i started writing, i noticed that my pointer was back...
.... but Not in kwrite.... just kate on separate 'desktops'.
nothing else changed except... i was unable to save images in firefox, but that's nothing new. i quite ff and restarted.. nothing else changed..
Спасибо, Landis.
p.s., in my kate, i save it as a session that i leave open so that it always loads on X (KDE) starting. I have 8, now 9 documents in it.. don't know if that's something or not ( this scenario is true on all 4 computers (forgot to mention my IBM ThinPad running SuSE 10.3 and KDE 3/4)..).
