How to prevent a shutdown?

Tue Dec 22, 2009 7:15 pm
Hello

I have some backup scripts in place, when these are running I like to protect my selfe an send at least a warning when I try to shutdown. Is this possible to do.

Guess something like
when shutdown
check for a certain script ps -ef| grep rsync ...
ask if I really want to shutdown

Thanks a lot
Michael

I think powerdevil has a D-Bus API that a program or script can call to prevent suspend and shutdown.

Cheers,
