I have a problem with kio_http. This process occurs many times and my system slows down. I kill this process, but after time again appears. The same applies to the process kio_file. In KDE SC 4.4 Beta 1 this problem was gone

I use Kubuntu 10.04 Alpha and KDE SC 4.4 Beta 2

Those processes are used by KDE applications when they access data, e.g. kio_http when they are accessing web sites.

They started on demand, kept around for a while in case another request comes in and terminated after some idle time.

They should not spend any CPU time unless they are currently being used by an application.

If you don't see any problem with the new beta, the applications might do their access in a different pattern now, resulting in better sharing of those helper processes.

Cheers,
