Hello,
it's been nearly a week since I've upgraded my 3.x kde to the 4.3 version. I'm still getting used to, but there is one annoying thing about the kickoff menu that I cannot fix myself. So what happens? My panel is place at the top edge of the desktop, so the kickoff button is at the left topmost location. When I left click on the kickoff button the launch menu opens for a moment but then closes on its own. I either have to press mouse button and do a little bit of "drag" action with a cursor, then release, to make it open permanently (success rate < 50%) or open it with mouse button still being pressed and then navigate inside the menu tree. I thought it might have sth to do with the "hot points" and indeed one was activated by default at the upper-left corner, but disabling it did not help. Has anyone got an idea what is going wrong here ? Thanks, Wojtek |

Does it work if you have the widget somewhere else?

You may find the classic menu more helpful. Right click on the KDE icon and select "Switch to Classic Menu style"

This is probably a bug in the Classic Menu, which makes assumptions based on its position in the bottom corner.
If, after re-adding it to the top panel it still does not function correctly, while it does at the same time on the bottom panel, please file a bug at bugs.kde.org.
