Can one have different color schemes for each activity?

Hi,

I would like to have two activities, 1) the "main" activity with normal colors, etc. and 2) the "programming" activity with darker, lower contrast colors (easier on the eyes).

I thought this was one of the main use-cases for activities, but I can't get it to work on my setup (Fedora 11, KDE 4.3); the color scheme seems to be global and changes for all activities simultaneously.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Activities are for grouping applications and to have different sets of applets for different sets of tasks. Unfortunately the themes and colour schemes are global settings at this time, as applications are not aware of which "activity" they will be in.

Thanks for your reply.

Are there any plans to make this a feature in the future?

I think (I can almost hear you saying "I don't care what you think" ;) ) it would be a really useful feature for activities and matches the overall... "philosophy" as well.

While this *may* be possible to implement, it would probably be difficult, I would recommend filing a wish a bugs.kde.org.
