Hello,

I've upgraded KDE 3.5.10 to 4.3.4 on my desktop just a
few hours ago. And the problem is that there is no
Menubar in any KDE program (like konqueror, dolphin,
konsole etc.) after upgrade. I can see "Show menubar"
option after right click, also I can press Ctrl+M - but
without any effect. There is still no menu in any application.
Where can I look and which settings can I change to
solve this problem ?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I don't know is it important or not, but in 3.5.10 my menubars was at
the top of the screen, like in Mac OS X.

One possibility is that the window manager isn't running or is crashing. Can you bring up a terminal and type
Code: Select all
kwin --replace
to see if that helps/gives you a useful error message?

Unforttunately it wasn't (at least for me :) The only messages was :

X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3
Major opcode: 20 (X_GetProperty)
Resource id: 0x340011a

But I've noticed other thing. When there is no kwin at all and I'm starting any
KDE application - there is no problem with menubar, it'w working and it's
at the same place as it was in 3.5.10 - at the screen top. When I start kwin
then - menubar dissapearing. Does it mean that some setting were incorrectly
imported from 3.5.10 ?

Looks like problem is solved.

It was bug (or feature ? :) described here:
