Hello,
I've upgraded KDE 3.5.10 to 4.3.4 on my desktop just a few hours ago. And the problem is that there is no Menubar in any KDE program (like konqueror, dolphin, konsole etc.) after upgrade. I can see "Show menubar" option after right click, also I can press Ctrl+M - but without any effect. There is still no menu in any application. Where can I look and which settings can I change to solve this problem ? Thanks in advance! P.S. I don't know is it important or not, but in 3.5.10 my menubars was at the top of the screen, like in Mac OS X. |

One possibility is that the window manager isn't running or is crashing. Can you bring up a terminal and type

Unforttunately it wasn't (at least for me ![]() X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3 Major opcode: 20 (X_GetProperty) Resource id: 0x340011a But I've noticed other thing. When there is no kwin at all and I'm starting any KDE application - there is no problem with menubar, it'w working and it's at the same place as it was in 3.5.10 - at the screen top. When I start kwin then - menubar dissapearing. Does it mean that some setting were incorrectly imported from 3.5.10 ? |
