Hi, i've been using kde 4.4 since beta 1 and everything seemed to be working just fine except for the system tray. It shows only notifications, mixer, akonadi and kopete. It wouldn't be such a problem for apps like ktorrent or amarok since i can just keep the on desktop but it's really problematic for things like knetworkmanager. So maybe someone had yhe same problem and found some solution?
Cheers, mehow10. |

Could you right click the system tray and go to system tray settings?
Please make sure every item under 'icons' in there is checked |

Sorry for bumping the thread but seriously - am i the only one with this problem? Is there some config file for tray i could mess with or do you now some app that could replace the system tray?

4.4 is still beta, so perhaps you encountered a bug in it.
did you file a bug report?

Temporarily move your ~/.kde directory and restart KDE - if it's fixed it's due to old config files. If not, bugtime

Thanks for the tip, I moved kde folder but when i tried to relog it gave me a bunch of error about "not writable files" and kicked me back to kdm. Fortunately all i had to do was change permissions in new /.kde to my user and now not only tray works properly but whole kde is running significantly faster
Now i just have to move some kopete and ktorrent configs back to get it fully working. Thanks |
