Let's see if I can explain my problem/Dolphin issue:
I'm using the latest Dolphin release 1.3 on KDE 4.3.4 (Kubuntu packages). So supposed that I have a directory with a lot of sub-directories and files, that Dolphin has a vertical scroll bar. I go to the middle of the list, so the scroll bar is at the middle, and go inside a sub-directory. When I go back again to the parent directory, I'm back at the begining of the list, the scrollbar is reset to initial position NOT where I was. This is pretty annoying in large directories... Any ideas? Thanks! |

The way I work depends on what I want to do. If I'm likely to be moving files around, I'd split the screen and open the subdirectories in the second pane, leaving the first one static. In other situations I'd open the subdirectory in a new tab. Both are very useful, although I agree that when I occasionally forget, I do find the default behaviour quite annoying.

Which KDE SC version? I can't reproduce it here on 4.3.4.
If I go into a subdirectory and go back, I return to the same scroll position. If I go into a subdirectory and go up (e.g. via breadcrumb), scroll position is reset. Exactly how I expect it to work.

Ok, that's it... Going BACK goes to the previous position. I was using UP. Thanks! |
