make a new folder in Dolphin

Mon Jan 18, 2010 12:53 am
When I clicked on the toolbar in Dolphin (F12 KDE Live USB with 1GB overlay)
just to make a new folder within a folder already on my desktop -
I not only got nothing in the way of a new folder . . . or chance to name the new folder -
BUT I totally lost the menu bar /toolbar with the New /etc. on it.

This is sick . . .

Any ideas - I went into Dolphin Windows configuration Advanced - yada yada yada . . .

Thanks.

Hm, I don't quite get what you're doing. Are you creating it by going to File -> Create New -> Folder or right clicking -> Create New -> Folder (or pressing F10)?

Not sure how you came to lose it, but try Ctrl-m to bring the menu bar back.

Yes Hans . . . I had been creating a new folder by going into File > Create New > Folder . . .

. . . and somehow I lost it. It was the darndest . . .

So . . . Ctrl-m
That got the menu bar to pop right back up. Thanks annew.

KDE 3.5 I have used in a FreeBSD Live (Release 6.1) . . .
and I enjoy learning this new KDE desktop in the Fedora 12 KDE version -
It is a frustration in the beginning, but I'll encourage others to stick with it
and ask these somewhat silly questions anyway as this forum board can be a big help.

Thanks again - and marking as solved.
