latency issues

Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:11 am
Hi,

for some time now I have experienced the following:

Whenever I run "leave" => "restart"/"shutdown" it takes up to about 10 seconds until the "restart computer" / "shutdown computer" dialogue shows up.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there be any way to have the dialogue show up within milliseconds again as it did before? I cannot recall what I configured/installed that made the system so unresponsive.

Code: Select all
uname -a
2.6.32-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Which graphics card do you use, and does enabling or disabling Desktop Effects make any change to the responsiveness of the shutdown dialog?

Also, which version of KDE are you using?
