I tried to like Konqueror but it don't let me to. I can't do my stuff, right know IMO Konqueror looks like a 3 years ago browser.
I have major issues with: * Gmail, (It "works" with changing agent, but it's ultra slow) * Gdocs, (Mega Slow) * No OGG/"HTML5" embedded player * Crashes Randonly (I submited the bug) * Flash sucks at it * No plugins for DL Flash Videos, Bookmarks sync,Tab Scope, and so on. I tried both KHTML and Webkit engines. And both sucked. So What can I Do? I want a Full-QT browser that works... but it's hard I need constantly to go back to firefox/chrom(e-ium). Arora and Rekonq are not for me, since they lack major "integration" stuff. Any Ideas for what I can do to help Konqueror, or other QT browser that works? Versions: -------- Qt: 4.5.2 KDE: 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5) Konqueror: 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5) PS: I'll update to KDE 4.4 beta to see if it's get better, if it's not I'll go back to Firefox/Chromium for GOOD. |

The slowness of GMail and GDocs is likely related to their heavy use of JS.
The reason why Flash doesn't suck so much in Chromium or Firefox is because they run it in process themselves, whilst Konqueror runs it as a seperate process ( nspluginviewer ), which will have some overhead ( and be partially responsible for the GDocs / GMail slowness too, since they use Flash ) Lack of a HTML5 player may be related to your distro not compiling Qt with Phonon enabled. Qt 4.6 includes improvements to QtWebKit which may improve the Webkit engine with Konqueror. What in particular are the "integration" issues? reKonq shares History, Cookies, and Bookmarks with Konqueror and uses KIO now.
