I very nuch want to switch to KDE 4.1, but this bug is keeping me on 3.x:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165402 Can the 3.x applets be run in KDE 4.x? Who can I bribe with beer to have this applet translated to KDE 4.x? Thanks!

Thank you einar, but the Keyboard LEDs applet does not suit the needs of Sticky Keys users. The Keyboard LEDs applet only shows the Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, and Num lock status. Sticky Keys users need these functions (provided by the Show Keyboard Status applet in KDE 3.x):
* Shift key status * Ctrl key status * Tux key status * Alt key status These are the modifier keys that Sticky Keys makes sticky.

Perhaps if you kindly ask it's author they might add that feature in for you. i can't envision it being that hard

You could also contact the author of the keyboard LED applet, IIRC Davide Bettio.

I do not see that doing much good, as that applet has nothing to do with the needs of Sticky Keys users. I do understand how they are easily confused, though.

Just for the information of people interested in this, I found in playground thanks to a mailing list email, the kbstate applet.
I hope this fills the hole for you users who need sticky keys, I have not tested it though.

Thanks. Can you post a link? I am googling the KDE Playground, but I only find the Suse website and the KB State applet is not in there yet.

Thanks, neverending. The link that you provide 404's. I tried to go up one directory and to find the kbstateapplet from there, but I could not find it.

That is because it has been moved to KDE review. it will therefore likely be made available in KDE 4.2. Now located here: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/kdereview/p ... ateapplet/

In which package is this "kbd state applet " available ?
Does not seem very clear. EDIT: found a plasma-widget-kbstate, but seems buggy is default tray options are modified. |
