I notice I have different programs starting up than what I do in GNOME. Where can I find and edit the KDE list of startup applications? Thanks.

System Settings -> Advanced -> Autostart.

By default, your previous session will also be restored. This means that applications which were running when you ended the previous session (logged off, shutdown the computer etc.) will be started up automatically. You can disable this in System Settings -> Advanced -> Session Manager -> Start with an empty session.

You can also choose "Restore manually saved session" and save the session from the application launcher -> Save Session (you won't find it in the application launcher Lancelot however, as far as I know).

Wow! Thank you! I had not yet been in the System Settings. Lots to do there.

Yep, lots indeed.

If this solved your problem, please click on Image under the post with the answer to mark the topic as solved. Take your time looking around in System Settings. :)
