I hope this is the right spot to post this. I have run across this issue now with Kubuntu, Mepis and LinuxMint. I have been searching for a few days now for a solution.

I am using the 4.x series and, basically, my kickoff menu isn't displaying everything. Nothing shows above the Graphics entry. So the entries for Development, Education and Games are missing. Doesn't matter if I use kickoff or classic menu, still missing. Also, stretching the height of the menu doesn't help.

I really hope someone here can figure this out. I can't be the only one suffering from this problem.

Try running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" then logging out and back in again.
