I just upgraded KDE4.3 to KDE4.4 on Kubuntu 9.10. but now I don't have a normal desktop anymore. I have a black background and no kicker or kickoff. as far as I know these are all part ot plasma-desktop. but when I try to start plasma-desktop, I get this:

those didn't help.
but then I remembered something, KDE now has both a desktop and a netbook version of plasma. so, I needed to install the package plasma-desktop separately as well. Since Kubuntu doesn't yet officially have KDE 4.4, I used a other repository, and the repository I used didn't contain plasma-desktop nor plasma-netbook in the kde meta-package so those needed to be installed separately ![]() |
