Killing ktts job

Sat Mar 06, 2010 4:33 pm
Hi,

Everytime I start KDE 4.4, kttsd tries to start. But ktts is not in autostart or anything else where it would be automatically started. The annoying thing is, that there's no voice installed, so ktts tries to start a couple of times until i can break it with the kttsmgr.

I realized that i have a job that looks like this:

jobnum: 0, owner: <blank>, priority: unknown, talkerid: no such object, state: unknown, position 0, sentences: 0

I think this job is the reason why kttsd tries to start. But when I try to remove this job, just nothing happens. It's still there!

How the hell can i remove that job?!

I'm using archlinux.

Thanks.

Can you please install "festival" which is a voice for KTTS?

Done. Festival was even installed. Just a speaker was missing. But the problem still remains. There is a NOT deletable Job, that causes ktts to start on every login.

Is this job visible under a new user?
