Hi,
since I upgraded to KDE 4.4.1 (on Arch Linux) the "System Activity" window (Ctrl+Esc) is broken. It doesn't update the process list. I can use the filter and kill processes and all that. But new processes don't show up and I can't see the CPU load of processes. It just shows a static list. The System Monitor application (ksysguard) is still working though, it's just the "Ctrl+Esc" window that is broken. I have exactly the same problem on 2 different machines (both running Arch Linux). Any ideas? |

Do you use KDEMod or vanilla packages? I have the same issue on KDEMod 4.4.1.

No problem on Fedora 12. Seems to be distro-related?

Working on 64-bit Arch with vanilla KDE (up-to-date, of course )

I thought it was a regression in 4.4.1, strange to hear that it works for some people.

I also have this problem on 2 different Fedora 4.4.1 systems. As the OP indicated, when going through the CTRL+ESC combination, the resulting process list is not updated. Calling ksysguard directly works fine.

If the function works but the keyboard shortcut doesn't I'd try and assign a different one first. Does it work? If so, assign it back to Ctrl+Esc...

Those two applications are slightly different (System Activity is simpler than KSysGuard). Starting System Activity from KRunner (the second button) doesn't work either. Does anyone know how to start it from the command line?

I think "System Activity" is a part of krunner as it runs in the same process.
You probably can't launch it separately from the command line. I tried removing ~/.kde4/share/config/krunnerrc but that didn't help. |

How strange. Mine is Fedora 12 + 4.4.1 and System Activity launches perfectly from Ctrl-Esc or the icon on krunner.
