Hi, I've been looking around for a way but didn't find one. How can I create a shortcut in KDE to launch Dolphin?
Also, in quicklaunch settings you can give a shortcut, but it doesn't do anything and seems to apply to all icons of that quicklaunch instead of only the Dolphin one? Basically, what I want is simply that if I press Meta+E, Dolphin opens. What's the way? Thanks! |

Go to the System Settings (Kmenu>Computer>System Settings)
Go into Input Actions. Right-click in the "Name" area choose New>Global Shortcut>Command/URL In the "Trigger" Tab assign your keyboard shortcut In the "Action" tab assign "dolphin" and Apply ![]() |

There's an even easier way: right click on the application launcher and select "Menu Editor" (or launch kmenuedit), browse to the application (or add a new item) and select a shortcut in the "Advanced" tab.
What it really does is add a shortcut to Input Actions. Since the question has been answered, could you please mark the topic as solved by clicking on ![]()
