Hi,
I have a dual-screen-setup for my desktop PC. Now I have setup everything the way I want it, but there is one annoying thing: I use one panel on bottom of the first screen for task-bar and system-tray. A second bar holds some of the often used programs, KDE-Menu... This second bar is set on left side of my second screen. If I maximise any window on this second screen, it always fills the hole screen, even the space behind this panel. ![]() Is there some way to have those windows only use the rest of this screen? Here's an image of this problem: http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/3223/workspace.png edit: I'm using Gentoo AMD64 with KDE 4.4.1 I used KDE 4.2 and 4.3 before, same situation there. |

Please check that "Always visible" is selected for the Panel Visibility settings. They can be found at Panel Cashew > More Settings > Visibility > Always Visible.
If this is set, which window manager are you using?

"Always visible" is set.
I'm using KWin-4.4.1 (and using it since version 4.2.x) Everything is fine, if I add the Window Panel/task-bar to this vertical panel. It although works, if I put it to the top or bottom (horizontal). It just doesn't work if it only contains some symbols and is vertical. |

KWin should work correctly in this case... can you please provide a screenshot of this in action?

The screenshot in my first post shows maximised firefox on the right screen.
The very left side of the firefox window slips behind my this vertical bar. The image is scaled down a little, but it should show what's relevant? If you need another screenshot, please tell me what you want to see exactly. |

This is a bug in the handling of multiscreen support likely in KWin or Plasma. Please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org.
