I'm trying to create an configuration overlay for my school installation (ArchLinux + Kde 4.4).
KDEDIRS=/etc/ensat:/usr i have /etc/ensat/share/config/kwinrc with some kwin settings... But, nothing is working when i login, KDEDIRS is ok but Kde seems to ignore it. Any idea? |

what is KDEDIR set to? try KDEDIR=/etc/ensat:/usr ; KDEDIRS=$KDEDIR
never understood the difference but KDEDIR seems the more relevant |

KDEDIR should be set to where KDE is installed itself. In this case /usr.
KDEDIRS need only be set if applications are installed in prefixes outside KDEDIR. The directories searched for configuration are compiled into the kdecore library when KDELibs is compiled. You can use the following command to check the paths.
/etc/kde4/ is used most commonly.

KDEDIR (no S) was deprecated since years (for the whole KDE 3 serie, at least), so now it has no use in KDE4. You can just use it for your own use, but nothing more than that though.
