"Is part of" and tags in Places bar

Wed Mar 31, 2010 9:37 pm
Hi everyone,

two things caught my attention in this screen shot from the 4.4 release announcement.

First, there is a "Tag: " Item in the places bar. How do you place that there?

Second, there is a "Is part of: " property in the sidebar on the right. I don't have an entry like this in KDE 4.4.2. How can you create collections like this and add things to them?

For the Tag-thing: you could make a nepomuk search and place the cryptic path into the location field when you create a new location. It works but it`s more a hack then a feature (and btw tag in the location bar would be great) and for the second, just right click on the property bar and check the "is part of" box, so its visible. I have not figured out exactly how this is organized, but it has something to do with the folder structure.

I don't know about the "is part of" but the other one is pretty straight-forward. Click in dolphin's search field. You get a "pop-down" where you can refine your search. Hit the plus-icon. Change the "Date:" to tag. Change "All" to "Equal to". Change the new drop-down to the tag you want to search for. Hit save and give your search a name - that name shows up in the places panel from now on. Just name it Tag: whatever and you've duplicated it.
