Hello,
I have a problem with KDE on 1440x900 screen resolution, it is crashing sometimes when I try to focus another window. Here are the facts: 1. KDE is crashing on my work PC. That crash persist from version 4.3 till 4.4.2. The monitor attached to that PC is LG of 19 inch, wide. 2. At the same time I have installed the same version of KDE on my laptop and it never crashed in same way. Screen size is 1280x800 3. Today I attached to my laptop the monitor from my work PC as second one, to extend my workspace. And some minutes ago it's crashed in same way as it do on my work PC. The above facts make me conclude that is screen resolution problem. |

KDE shouldn't crash due to the screen resolution. When KDE "crashes" what happens? Does the whole system lock up / whole desktop close sending you back to the login screen?
Or do individual applications crash, and the Crash Handler inform you that they crashed?

Do you use Desktop Effects? If so, try disabling them. Updating to the latest graphics card driver available from your manufacturer is also recommended.

Please report a bug to your graphics card manufacturer if ATi or NVidia, assuming you are using the latest drivers. If you are not, please update. If you are using Intel graphics, please file a bug at the opendesktop.org Bugzilla.
