I installed a ttf font by right clicking the file and choosing "Install". I was asked if I wanted to install it locally or system-wide - I chose system and entered the root password in the susbequent prompt. No errors were reported. Now here are my questions:
1. The font is present in ~/.fonts/i direcotory which means it's installed for my user. I checked /usr/share/fonts and its subdirectories - the file is not there. I asked for system-wide font installation, but it seems that I got local installation instead. Why? I even tried searching for the .ttf file using KDE search and it was only found in ~/.fonts/i. A bug? 2. How do I properly remove a font after using the "Install" font functionality as described above? By properly I mean so that all the files or configuration related to that font are removed. Is there a corresponding "Uninstall" functionality somewhere? I'm using KDE 4.3.4 |

Can you please update to KDE 4.4.2 and try to reproduce that bug? If you can, can you please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org?
With regards to removing it, the Font Installer also offers this functionality ( see the delete button at the bottom of the window, beside the Add button )

I checked the source and yes, it's a bug in KDE 4.3.4. No matter what you select, it will install a local copy only. I cannot yet upgrade to KDE 4.4 since it's not available for my distro yet.

It must be a regression because I installed a font to the system folder with KDE4.3.1. I've checked and it is definitely there.
