For some reason the CPU usage widget does not work for me. It stays the same no matter what load is placed on the CPU.
The same goes for the overal system monitor widget. Here, only hard disk usage is displayed. Network, CPU, memory is not. What could be the problem? I remember when using Ubuntu (Gnome), I did not have this problem - similar widgets worked fine there. Btw, when viewing the capabilities window in power management section, number of cpus is shown 0 (i've got a ). Maybe it's related. Do I need some additional software packages? |

Can you please post the output of the following command?
Also, try removing and re-adding the CPU Monitor. If the above command doesn't return any output, please check that HAL is functional.

This command should return quite a bit of output if HAL is functional:
The output should look similar to the following ( although much longer, this is just a excerpt of what the output is here )

Which distribution are you using? It is possible they didn't build KDE with the HAL development packages available, thus the installation built without HAL support.

Which distribution are you using? Regardless of the distribution, please file a bug in their bug tracker, and post a link to that bug here, as the packages have broken dependencies.
