I occasionally get this upon kdm login

kdm[1695] general protection ip:3bbbec sp:bf8a9a60 error:0 in libglib-2.0.so.0.2200.5[385000+e8000]

kdm then freezes .

I found some old posts that seem to indicate some thing like this happening if you entered the wrong password but thats not the issue here

KDE 4.4.2
kdm.i686 4.4.2-5.fc12

Fedora 12

Are you using the latest versions of all packages available for your system?
