Hello all!
I am a very big fan of kde but sometimes (mostly for work) I prefer using other window manager (WM next) like Fluxbox or Awesome.

In these WM I still use KDE apps like Kmix, Kpowersave (or powerdevil) or Kupdateapllet...docked in the systray

I don't manage to launch the KDE4 device notifier as a "daemon" to detect and automount removable media.
I used halevet, ivman , thnuar-volman but they don't have the good looking of KDE one.

Can someone tell me if it is possible and how?

The device notifier is now a plasma widget, it won't work without plasma.

PowerDevil is KDE's Power Manager which is different to the Device Notifier. One workaround ( although not embeddable in the system tray ) would be to use plasmoidviewer to run the Device Notifier.

I have already tried with plasmoidviewer but I can't dock it.
Ok, so if it is not possible to use the device notifier as a "daemon" to automount removable media without plasma I will keep those I used so.

Thanks

Note that if you are after automount functionality, you may wish to check System Settings > Advanced, as there is a control panel there in 4.4 and later which allows you to control automounting by KDE. This will also occur if kded4 is running outside a KDE session.

I have upgraded to kde4.4 and and i have the control panel to control automounting but it only automounts devices that have already been mounted even if the option is unchecked.
Is anyone has the same problem?
