Hi
I have problems automount CDROM in KDE. XFCE automounts all the CDROM, USB stick I inserted so I know it's not hal/udev/d-bus problem. It must be something related to KDE. I went to System Settings->Advance->Removable Devices. I select, "Enable automount ..." I deselect, "Enable automount only for manually mounted ..." I select the next 2 options (don't remember them exactly) However, nothing happens when I insert USB stick or a CDROM drive. I notice that each time I insert a new device, KDE automatically puts it under the Device Overrides list where no-automount (at login or attached) is assumed. This might be the reason while KDE doesn't automount it. I don't know how to fix. Could somebody help ? BTW, I have Kubuntu 10.04. and whatever KDE that comes with it (I'm not near my KDE desktop to look for the exact information). Thanks in advance ntt2007 |

Does your automounter configuration look like this? http://imagebin.ca/view/pBhdGFFz.html

Yes, I have exactly the same settings.
I think the problem is the Device Overrides list (bottom half on your screenshot). Whenever I insert a CDROM or USB Stick. It appears on this list with the column "Automount at login" and "Automount on Attach" unchecked. Since it overrides all the setting at the first half, KDE doesn't automount it. |
