Turn off monitor manually

Does KDE provide a way to turn off the monitor manually (I'm using a laptop)? Surely when your system sits idle for some time, this happens automatically, but is there a way to do it manually without the wait?

Well, you could configure a global shortcut to execute the command

Code: Select all
xset dpms force off

OpenSUSE 11.4, 64-bit with KDE 4.6.4
