Hello Everybody

Few days before I installed kubuntu 10.04, I am facing a problem while viewing Devnagri script(used for marathi and hindi languages), through browser (chrome and firefox), though I have not tried to see it, by changing the font of the whole kde system.

Please find the snapshot http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6431/snapshot1sz.png.

This was not a problem when I was using GNOME. I am little curious here to go till the depth of problem, Please suggest if there is any solution available or how to traceout the problem, as in which kde subsystem should i look into for tweaking.

Regards, Pushkaraj

As far as I am aware, KDE is not able to affect Chrome or Firefox. Does the same web page appear broken in Konqueror also?

yes, Konqueror renders it good, but still it is far from what chrome was showing when working under Gnome here is the screenshot - http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/7214/snapshot2.png

If it was working better in Chrome, have you tried View>View Mode>WebKit in Konqueror?

Please check for and remove any ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 file. Also check in ~/.kde4/env/ for a file named gtk-qt-engine.rc.sh and remove that also.

After doing that, logout and back in again.

I am not able to find that menu, in Konqueror Version 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2). Can you please let me know how the view mode changes in this one, if its different.

Perhaps you have not got the WebKit KPart installed on your system. I have had this option in KDE4.3 and now in KDE4.4 and tried it whenever I had a problem, for example, with viewing charts in the browser.

Installing WebKit KPart didnot bring that menu, any other way?
