i switched to phonon-vlc and am now running into trouble with vlc. in the input actions dialog, i've set up a keyboard shortcut (win + v) to launch vlc (command: vlc).
however, when i hit win + v, i get an error:
and vlc fails to load. i am able to launch vlc through kde's program menu and from the command line. any ideas? thanks! |

If you enter /usr/bin/vlc as the command, does anything change?
Also, have you tried running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental"?

/usr/bin/vlc from the command line works fine.
i also tried running kbuildsycoca:
but the error still comes up. edit: actually, changing the command in the input actions dialog to 'usr/bin/vlc' seems to work. strange. |

This is likely related to the fact that the names of the *.desktop files are both "vlc.desktop" thus causing them to conflict each other.
