KDE 4.5
![]() I have a keyboard layout set per window. I switch a layout for a Skype window, then come back to that window after ~10 minutes - the layout is reset to the default again.

This is a huge problem for any multi-language user, I think. I can't normally chat in both Kopete and Skype.
Wanted to add that the problem occurs even if my layout is set "per application". Maybe there is a workaround? Like could I force a keyboard layout (ru, en) for a specific window by its class + title? Using specific window behavior, for example. |

Found out what triggers it: pressing back/forward on my mouse or pressing mutimedia keys on the keyboard.
Any suggestions having this in mind? |

An example command:
Full reproduction instructions: 1) Open Kate, switch keyboard layout from default 2) Open konsole, execute the command written above 3) Return to the Kate window. Layout is switched to default again. Expected behavior: layout remains switched. |

Check your keyboard shortcuts in System Settings > Shortcuts & Gestures

What to check? My shortcuts are fine, any xte command triggers layout switching in other windows. xdotool has the same effect. Seems to me - there is a bug in KDE 4.5

Can you reproduce under a new user?

I tried deleting the whole .kde directory and creating a new user. Both options don't help.
I filed a bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247966 |
