I have this issue where the system tray will freeze after a while. Meaning if I right click say on my choqok icon instead of the choqok menu I get the system tray menu instead (the one with option to remove this system tray). I can't even left click on the icon to bring the app up. the only way to restore it is to run

It's not only choqok this happens with but pretty much most of my icons. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or any tips on how I might fix it?

For the icons that freeze up, are their tooltips Native Plasma tooltips, or tooltips native to the application?

Well let's see, I noticed the behavior with choqok, kontact, kopete, skype, tomboy, and googsystray. So I guess it's both.

If you create a new user, can you reproduce there?

Sorry it's taken me a few days to respond, yes it happens on the new user desktop as well. I don't know if there is any correlation but I do have these items set to auto start.

Hmm.. If you start these applications after Plasma finishes starting up, does this still occur?

Also, try leaving applications out one by one to see if it is one particular application causing this.

Actually I don't believe there is a correlation with that, as sometimes it will happen long after I've logged in.

I will try as you suggest and see if we can narrow down whether it's one app causing it. I'll report back after testing.

This is not the same issue as reported initially, and your problem is due to badly compiled distro packages.

Well I'm not sure what was in the update, but one came down through the Kubuntu repo's yesterday and I've not seen this issue reappear.
