After last update, this new box is popping up on my screen at login and when I try to copy or save documents, files to a network drive...

This 'scanning' dialog box...
It has NEVER Finished Anything!

I've LOST files while moving or copying and work while trying to save, even in my favorite, 'simple text editor' Kwrite.....

At login, if there where open konqueror windows at shutdown, then the authentication 'wallet' security dialog boxes should appear, and they do, just in the background because this scanning thing is going on and I can not use the mouse to get from one desktop to another where the login dialog may be because the 'auto hide' taskbar will not reveal itself until the passwords are entered, but someone who does not know the key combinations to get from one desktop to another and alt+tab to the security input box will never be able to work..

What the... ?

Once again, not ready for anytime, let alone prime time.

It's still over on desktop 01 scanning away, trying to 'save' a simple one line text file, something I've done hundreds of thousands of time, to the same machine and same network drive.....

I can't click 'pause', cancel etc..
The only way to get rid of it is to kill the process and then, oh guess what... What ever it was 'touching' is GONE... NOT good.

You guys don't like me crabbing, but you leave heavy users like myself little choice when you put things out that are not ready to be included as 'stock'...

People like me usually can figure things out for ourselves much quicker than trying to get an answer on any forum. So by the time we (I) am frustrated enough to come here, it's too late, I'm already 'mad'..
Sorry, but as a coder you Must Know that's how it really is, you know, out here in the real world where things, circumstances and people Snck.
So, I am sorry, most of the time for my crabbing, but by the time I calm down, I've already finished my post and have gone on, way on to other things... like right now.. Only this time, I'm moderating myself by continuing to type... rammmble....

And you've (neverendingo, the guy who likes to kick me off the forum) said that the community votes to include or replace things, ie konqueror...

Where and when has this ever happened outside of the 'inner circle' ?
How do we, I find out about these changes before it's too late?
What forum or thread should one who is interested, watch?

ok, i feel much better, but still am not happy with the lose of my work. once you hit save, there is no way to save it.. i can't quick copy, and past into a new document, locally even though the, in this case, kwrite doc is setting right there.. no way to select the doc once this new 'copying' box appears.. i can leave the doc and the 'copying' box on a screen for days it seems.. until i kill it..
If even there was an error that would allow one to save a copy locally if this 'copying' box is have trouble with network protocol or 'sftp' to a network drive, but no... just die and goodbye work!
Not good!

Landis.

p.s.,
I was able to get an error only by clicking the upper right 'x' (close)..

'The window "Copying" is not responding. It belongs to the application kwrite (Process ID = 18220, hostname = localhost).
Do you wish to terminate the application process including all of its child windows?'
'Any unsaved data will be lost.'

I've shut down and restarted, only to have the same issue repeatedly.

neverendingo,,, calm enough??
Sorry, but I would hope that it is understandable now, how the little things can make one the craziest.

This was indeed more calm than expected from you... But still, your past behaviour didn't show this might last for long, and that's why you have a permanent ban, until you write the admins explaining your intentions and especially the will to honor the Code of Conduct.
Everybody has problems with the software from time to time, else this forum wouldn't even exist, neither would we have bugzilla.
The difference is to come here and describe your problem in a clear manner so everybody can follow and try to reproduce/help, without accusing developers of bad software (remember, they wrote it in their spare time for free).

Like for your post, i don't really understand what you mean with the "scanning box" and what it has to do with the login or startup. I might not be the only one. So what do you think how someone should help you?

People like me usually can figure things out for ourselves much quicker than trying to get an answer on any forum. So by the time we (I) am frustrated enough to come here, it's too late, I'm already 'mad'..

And that's the fundamental problem. Why come so late if you already feel something doesn't work or you even already know it will not work? Looking at your post you obviously were NOT able to figure it out yourself, and in the end got stuck with the unfortunate situation of lost work. No one wants that.

So, to make it short, write the admins (find the address at the bottom) stating your intention and willingness to work together, get back your old account and let's step through your problems to nail down what is going wrong. Oh, and it helps to state one problem at a time, not only is it easier to follow, it also helps others who might be searching for the exact same thing.
