Hello,
Since KDE 4.4 (Mandriva distro), I'm no longer able to change power saving schemes, like 'performance', 'xtreme powersave' ..., using the battery indicator plasmoid. Moreover, plugging/unplugging doesn't change the power saving scheme at all. Is it a known problem with KDE 4.4 ? It was fine in KDE 4.3. Is there a fix ? Thank you. |

Thank you for your reply.
Here's the output :
I made a quick comparison with the output from another installation with KDE 4.3, it seems t be missing powerdevil namely. Please suggest a fix if any. |

What is the output of "qdbus org.kde.kded /kded loadModule powerdevil"?
Also check in System Settings > ... > Service Manager to ensure PowerDevil is enabled.
KDE Sysadmin

does load the powerdevil module and restores expected behaviour. System Settings > ... > Service Manager / PowerDevil is enabled but does not start up after logging.
I ended up loading the powerdevil module in a script run upon KDE start. Thank you very much for your help. |
