Hi all,
I wanted to get a 105 key keyboard, and I ended up getting a Swedish Apple keyboard, as they're just as easy to get as the others, and nice to type on. What I'm finding, is that the < and § keys are the wrong way around, which isn't an issue at all, but also that the F13-F15 keys and the fn key don't do anything. This is a bit of a concern, because I do use Print Screen often enough, and Insert I use all the time, as I'm a touch typist so I use Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert instead of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. They are in the same location as the PC equivalents (insert/fn, F13/PrintScreen etc.) but just seem to be unused. If I look at the available keyboards in Regional and Language options, there are a few, but I don't know if any match up with Apple, I'm sorry to say most of the names there don't mean much to me. Is there any way of setting up KDE with an Apple keyboard? Cheers, Aston |

I don't have a Mac-keyboard available, but I'd say your best bets are probably the ones labeled Apple | Apple or Apple | Macintosh. Or if it's an older keyboard you got second-hand Apple | Macintosh Old.
You may also, in case those don't work, to remap the offending keys. Try in Standard Keyboard shortcuts changing, for example, paste and see if it lets you change the shortcut to what you want. If it doesn't you may want to look into using xmodmap which is quite a bit more complicated.

I found printscreen under khotkeys, so I can try that when I get home, but I'd need to use xmodmap to change insert, wouldn't I? I seems strange that there wouldn't be an Apple layout (there's certainly nothing with the word Apple or Mac in the list of available layouts) as people with Macs use KDE. |

As far as I know this doesn't really have to do with KDE, but rather related to X(org?). KDE just provides a way to switch between the layouts.
On my system I have the following models that are related to Apple: Apple, Apple Laptop, MacBook/MacBook Pro, MacBook/MacBook Pro (Intl), Macintosh and Macintosh Old. You might also want to try Evdev-managed keyboard if you use evdev.
